DEVONPORT, TASMANIA - Tasmania-based hydraulics specialist, Delta Hydraulics, has released a new hoist safety valve designed to prevent any uncontrolled movement caused by hose failure or impact damage to the hoist fittings.
Delta's new product is part of its range of telescopic cylinders used in many tipper applications. "The hose burst valve sits within the telescopic cylinder," said John White, Managing Director of Delta Hydraulics.
"In the past, hose burst valves were always an addition to the cylinder and consequently protruding from it, which would put them in a prime position to get damaged. But in our design, we have developed a solution that has the valve integrated within the cylinder itself."
According to White, Delta Hydraulics' new safety hoist valve effectively means that even if the tipper trailer is tipped at an angle with a full load, the valve will maintain the angle and secure the load until the load is lowered safely.
"The lowering of the load is achieved safely without the need for service personnel to enter the space around the inlet to the cylinder to service pilot or electrical connections," he added.
